The Iliad Group has signed its first wind power PPA* with French electricity producer H2air. The European telecommunications company will purchase the carbon-free electricity produced by the wind turbines at the Limodores wind farm for a period of 15 years.

The PPA will cover the supply of 19 GWh over 15 years to the iliad Group from 1 January 2026. Located in Haute-Marne, the Limodores wind farm was developed, built and is currently operated by the H2air Group.

The iliad Group is an experienced energy procurement group and has previously signed several solar PPAs in Europe. Thanks to the depth of its multi-technology portfolio, H2air has supported the major telecoms player in the completion of its first long-term wind power sales contract.

Roy MAHFOUZ, President and Founder of H2air, is delighted with this new contract: "We are very proud to be supplying the iliad Group with renewable energy for their very first wind PPA in Europe! The conclusion of this partnership demonstrates the ability of H2air and the entire industry to meet the needs of major groups at competitive rates".

"The wind power generated by our Limodores power station will help to implement the iliad Group's ambitious climate strategy. This contract also illustrates H2air's ability and commitment to support major groups in their resilience in the face of market volatility and their anticipation of regulatory requirements", continues Mathieu MIRABEL, PPA & Asset Valuation manager at H2air.

"I am delighted to announce that we have signed our 1st wind power PPA in France with H2air. Since the publication of our Climate Plan in January 2021, the iliad Group has signed eight PPAs in Europe. A European group like ours has to think about its energy supplies on a European scale, with the same guideline: priority everywhere to low-carbon energies and to securing our supplies over the long term! The iliad Group is demonstrating here that the telecoms sector knows how to think about its development in a sustainable and responsible way, that it knows how to combine technological progress with respect for the environment", said Thomas Reynaud, CEO of the iliad Group.

This first wind farm PPA is part of a proactive CSR approach by the iliad Group, which is concerned about the environmental impact and sustainability of its investments. The electricity supplied under the PPA avoids the emission of more than 13,900 tonnes of CO2 eq each year.
